Our Services

We’ve got the startline covered!
Our workshops & services speak specifically to your needs in your first 0 - 3 years of business.

Our Workshops

Startline’s workshops are designed to give early-stage business owners more than just knowledge. We offer clarity, confidence, and practical tools you can apply immediately.

Each interactive session is hands-on, thoughtfully structured, and tailored to meet you where you’re at in your business journey. Whether you're just starting out, refining your offer, or planning for growth, you'll walk away with a deeper understanding of your business and clear next steps to move forward with purpose. You'll learn at the same time as doing the real work, with expert guidance and community support.

Business Development Workshops

Our 2 hour, hands-on workshops are designed to equip small business owners and entrepreneurs with essential tools and actionable insights to help their businesses thrive.

These interactive sessions cover everything from business planning to brand strategy, and each one includes practical worksheets that guide you through doing the work on your own business. You'll leave with new insight and concrete steps you can implement right away.

Perfect for groups of early stage businesses, our workshops are a fun and engaging way to support the growth of local businesses and entrepreneurial communities.

Building a Viable Business

If you don’t have a business background, and you had to choose which workshop to do first, it would be this one. During this two hour session, we take a step back from the start line, and look at the drivers and motivations behind starting your business.

We learn about the importance of understanding your own personal situation and needs before getting too deep into the running of your business, and explore one practical tool to help you do this.

At the end of this session you will have a clearer understanding of what you want and need from your business. These insights can help you to make key decisions as you work through your business model and plan.

An Introduction to Business Modelling

In this workshop session, you’ll roll up your sleeves and work through the key elements needed to set your business up for success. We’ll dive into the business lean canvas, a great tool for gaining a birds eye view of your business, and learning more about how to maximise opportunities and take effective action.

As a tool the Business Lean Canvas helps you to ‘get to know your business’ and by the end of the workshop, you will have a clearer overview of the nine most important areas of your business and how they impact, relate to and support one another.

Designing Your Value Proposition

This workshop is all about defining what value your products and services really bring to your customers. We work through the Value Proposition Canvas, a tool which helps you sharply define the value that you bring to your customers.
Businesses make or break on the desirability of their solution, and this workshop is designed to help you get a deeper understanding of what your ideal customer wants and needs.

This workshop is best for businesses who:

  • Have not yet settled on final product/service

  • Have settled on product/service but are struggling to make sales

  • Have an innovative product/service

  • Are introducing a new product/service

Build Your Business Plan

Roll up your sleeves and dive into the world of business planning! In this session, we’ll walk you through all the key parts of a business plan. We dig into the purpose and uses of a Business Plan, and talk about who you should (and shouldn’t) be sharing it with.

We break the Business Plan down into its key parts, and explain why each piece is important, and from whos perspective. We share our recommended Business Plan structure with you, and offer some top tips on getting started on the plan yourself.

This workshop is best for businesses who:

  • Are looking to create a Business Plan for their own business

  • Have created a Business Plan in the past, but would like to improve or update it

  • Are unsure about whether a Business Plan is important for them

  • Would like to create their own Business Plan, but feel like they need structure or guidance

Practical Marketing for Small Business

In this session, we’ll be digging in to all things marketing. We will help you break down the difference between marketing strategy and planning and look at what a good marketing strategy and plan look like.

In the practical part of our session, we will dive into creating a marketing plan for a test case business. You’ll be guided through a marketing canvas that can help you think in the big picture about how you might structure your own campaigns in the future.

Overview:

Our Business Modelling Service helps you understand your business on a deeper level. The real value of this session is having an expert guide you through the process of thinking more deeply about your business. They can help you spot patterns, ask better questions and highlight gaps or opportunities. Unlike doing this by yourself or working through it in a classroom setting, having someone who has worked with many businesses can open your eyes to new possibilities, potential risks, and fresh angles for growth.

Purpose of the documents:

Business Lean Canvas: This document gives you a clear visual of your business’s key components, like your value proposition, target audience, revenue streams, and more. Working through it with an expert helps you think about your business from different perspectives and can highlight areas you may have overlooked. It’s not just a tool for planning; it’s a guide for discovering new opportunities and making smarter decisions.

Overview

Our Business Plan services helps business owners step back and look at their business as a whole. Together we work through the core parts of the business model so you can clearly understand how your offer, customers, operations, and finances connect.

The process is practical and grounded in the real challenges you are facing right now. Depending on your needs, the plan may focus on establishing the foundations of a new business, refining a pathway for growth, or preparing the information needed for funding or finance. The aim is to leave you with a clear, usable plan that supports real decisions about the next stage of the business.

Purpose of the Document

The Business Plan brings together the key elements of your business into one clea document. This includes your offer, customers, operating model, and the financial logic that sits behind the business.

Depending on the type of plan, it may also include growth priorities or the information typically required for funding or finance applications. The document is designed to be practical and usable, helping you explain your business to others while also giving you a clear reference point for future decisions.

Process

The service runs over four weeks and includes three in person sessions. During these sessions we work through the main areas of the business together, bringing structure to your ideas and identifying the areas that need the most focus. You can expect to do some work during the weeks, and be supported by our team to do this.

Marketing Strategy & Plan

Once you have a strong Business Plan in place,  it’s important to understand how you are going to go about achieving your goals. A large part of this is marketing.

Time: 4 weeks  -  3 in person sessions

Overview:

Our Marketing Strategy & Plan service guides you through the process of mapping out your strategy, and putting clear milestones in place on the roadmap to your goals.

You are likely to have many marketing ‘plans’ in your business journey, however having a grounding strategy in place to guide them can be the difference between marketing that feels random, and marketing that is purposeful and gets results.

So during this service we guide you toward two different outcomes.

  1. Creating a foundational marketing strategy document

  2. Setting your first plan in place covering a set period of time to launch you toward achieving your first goals.

Together we will create a practical plan that you will be able to follow going forward to ensure you stay on track while you work toward your goals.

Purpose of the documents:

Marketing Strategy: A clear marketing strategy will help you define your target audience, identify key messaging, and decide on the marketing channels and tactics that are best suited for your business & budget. It also helps you understand your business’s position in the market, so you can communicate your value proposition effectively and stay competitive.

Marketing Plan Overview: The marketing plan is a step by step guide to turning your strategy into action. It outlines specific campaigns, initiatives, and timelines for reaching your marketing goals. From content creation to social media campaigns, it helps you prioritise your efforts and ensure that you’re staying on track with your marketing objectives. It also gives you a clear way to measure and track the success of your efforts.

Next Steps Document: This document will help you take the first practical steps to put your marketing plan into action. It includes timelines, key tasks, and things to prioritise to ensure you’re making real progress toward achieving your marketing goals.

Team Strategy Sessions

I work with small business teams to help them align around what matters most — setting clear objectives, reviewing what’s working (and what’s not), and building a realistic path forward. These sessions are practical, people-focused, and tailored to the dynamics of your team.

If you're looking for support to bring your team into sharper focus, I'm always happy to chat it through over coffee.
